Play selection
Finally organized
Titles under consideration get a home before anything is announced: licensing and rights notes, committee input, candidates side by side. The chosen shows roll straight into your season.
A theatre management system for community theatres
Remember the moment that hooked you? The house going dark. The first laugh from a full house. The bows.
We run everything else. You run the show.
The work nobody applauds
Nobody falls in love with theatre so they can chase down photos, run audition signups out of a shared inbox, keep the season straight across nine spreadsheets, and fight a website builder at 11pm before opening. But that’s where the hours go — and the people who came to make theatre end up doing the work nobody applauds.
Footlights hands those hours back.
Everything revolves around the show
Footlights is a theatre management system — every operational thread of putting on a season, gathered into one place that runs itself: from “what if we did…” through auditions, the run, strike, and into the archive. The website your patrons see is just the part that shows.
From the moment a title is first considered, it has a home. And when it closes, it doesn’t disappear. It becomes history.
What Footlights runs
Play selection
Titles under consideration get a home before anything is announced: licensing and rights notes, committee input, candidates side by side. The chosen shows roll straight into your season.
Auditions
Post the notice, take the signups, schedule the callbacks, land the cast. The piece of Footlights that existed first.
The season
Every production gets its page: dates, cast, creative, artwork. “Now Playing” rolls to “Coming Up” as your calendar moves.
Tickets
Through your theatre’s own Ludus or Arts People box office. Patrons never leave your site, and the money goes straight to your accounts. It never touches ours.
Requests
Your theatre’s dashboard: see what’s in motion, drop requests, ask questions. Board turnover stops erasing history.
The archive
The archive is a first-class part of the platform, not an afterthought: every production your theatre has ever mounted.
How it works
Poster, program, cast list: send what you already have. No CMS to learn, no copy to write, no volunteer webmaster to recruit.
How it worksWhat we don’t do
We don’t hold your money: your box office, your accounts. We don’t hand you a DIY builder and wish you luck. And we don’t lock you in: your domain and your data are yours, and if you ever leave, everything comes with you, clean and complete.
See it run
Brightwick is our demo theatre. Browse its season, then ask the assistant anything about it.

We’re inviting our first theatres in. If your board is ready to hand off the work nobody applauds, let’s talk.
